- The KVS Admission Schedule 2025 PDF is release via an advertisement issue by the Regional Office in local newspapers, typically in February 2025, inviting parents & guardians to register on behalf their children.
- 25% of seats in Class I (10 out of 40 seats) are reserve for children from SC/ST/EWS/BPL/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and differently-abled categories, as per the Right to Education (RTE) Act. These seats are fill through a draw of lots.
- A 3% horizontal reservation is provided for differently-abled candidates for admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas.
- The minimum age to apply is 6 years for Class 1. This means child must be 6 years old by 31st March of the academic year in which admission is sought for Class 1.
- Children born on April 1st are also eligible for admission.
- Maximum age relaxation is of 2 years which only for differently-abled children.
- If seats in Class XI remain vacant after admitting children from KVs and neighboring KVs, admission may be granted to non-KV children, based on the established priority sequence.
- The approved strength for each class is 40 students per section.
- This category includes the only child who is a girl (or twin girls), with no other siblings.
Note – This is clear to everyone that these KVS Guidelines for Admission 2025 are not applicable to Kendriya Vidyalayas which are settle outside India (Abroad).
Reservation For KV Admission 2025
Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) focuses on equal opportunities for all children, in line with the Right to Education (RTE) Act. 25% of Class I seats (10 out of 40) are reserve for children from SC, ST, EWS, BPL, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and Differently Abled categories, filled through a draw of lots. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has set priorities for admission. This KVS Admission priority is base on a number of factors, including employment status, family ties, and transfer history. Here are the priorities which are followed while granting admissions.
For Dependents of Civil/Defence Sector –
- Children of transferable and non-transferable Central Government employees and ex-servicemen.
- Children of transferable and non-transferable Autonomous Bodies, Public Sector Undertakings, or Institutes of Higher Learning of the Government of India.
- The Children of transferable and non-transferable State Government employees.
- Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of Autonomous Bodies, Public Sector Undertakings, or Institutes of Higher Learning of State Governments.
- Children from any other category not covered by the above.
Note – Within each category, priority is given based on the number of transfers in the last 7 years.
For Public Sector Undertakings/Institutes of Higher Learning Sector –
- The Children of employees from sponsoring project sectors or Institutes of Higher Learning, including faculty, postgraduate students on long-term research, and Council of Wardens (COW) employees, and their retired counterparts.
- Children of serving employees and deputation employees, including those of directly hired contractual staff (not outsourced or agency employees).
- Children of transferable and non-transferable Central Government employees and ex-servicemen.
- The Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of Autonomous Bodies, Public Sector Undertakings, or Institutes of Higher Learning of the Government of India.
- Children of transferable and non-transferable State Government employees and employees of Autonomous Bodies, Public Sector Undertakings, or Institutes of Higher Learning of State Governments.
- Children from any other category not covered by the above.
